PROJECT
(STATEMENT)
‘Dreams of Tibet’ is a research based printed editorial book about the autonomous region of Tibet. This project was prompted by ethereal photographs of Tibet by Kin Coedel, highlighting the beauty and deep culture of this region. The extensive research put into this project allowed for a wholistic perspective on the place in order to portray Tibet through a respectful and unbiased tone, and to share the beauty of this place with others.
The book features a green to red color gradient that acts as a visual representation of the slow and gradual changes in Tibet over the years and progression throughout the book. The gradient is seen in the text color and in the spine of the book too.
The printed version was also then translated into a digital website and app that adopted the same visual language, but took advantage of the digital space to explore the music and instruments of Tibet.
